Look Who We Met: Matt McGorry from Orange Is the New Black and How to Get Away With Murder

The avid OITNB fans we are, we were already planning on dressing up as five of the show's most well-known characters when we found out that, serendipitously, Matt McGorry (a.k.a. John Bennett) was dropping by our office for a chat. So, in the spirit of All Hallows Eve, we asked if Litchfield's most lovable officer would entertain us by temporarily joining in on our group costume. Fortunately, Bennett was a good sport!

True story: Almost every year my Pomeranian pup has a better Halloween costume than I do. Maybe it's because she's way cuter than me, but Piper always seems to nail the perfect off-the-moment, adorable costume!

Case in point: This year we hit up the Tompkins Square Dog Park Halloween Parade where hundreds of doggies (seriously!) show off their spook-tacular costumes. Piper had two requirements for her costume: (1) it would have to be comfortable to move in and (2) it had to stand out in that massive crowd.

I was inspired by our rad gallery of the 10 Best 2014 Pop Culture Halloween Costumes—specifically, our DIY Angelina Jolie's wedding dress and veil embroidered with her kids' doodles. It was perfect! Relevant, iconic, and as pretty as Piper! I grabbed a yard of cheap tulle, an old white T-shirt, a handful of Sharpies, and a glue gun, opened my copy of People, and constructed a tiny replica for my anipal. Happy Howl-oween!
