Excerpts:
In the spirit of #ThrowbackThursday, four InStyle staffers from the digital team dug up some of their most memorable Halloween costumes from decades past. "This is from 1992—it's the day before my 3rd birthday (I'm born on Nov. 1, obvi), and I was Tinkerbell! My family had a Halloween party, which is why I'm also sporting Minnie Mouse face paint (and some crumbs around my mouth). It's definitely one of my favorite costumes I've ever worn. I even tried to recreate it in 5th grade—though to much less success." —Jennifer Davis, InStyle.com Assistant Social Media Editor "I was nine or 10 in this photo. Looking at it now, I can instantly recall the smell of my mother's bronzer stick that I rubbed all over my face. I'm supposed to be a gypsy or a fortune teller—but mostly I'm wearing my mom's clothes, costume jewelry, and makeup. The whole look is so '70s!" — Angela Matusik, InStyle.com Executive Editor "I love this photo of me in a bumblebee costume from 1990! When did I lose that cuteness? That Halloween, I was with my older cousin Liana who I thought the world of and looked up to. She was a fairy princess! We spent the evening trick-or-treating with my parents around the neighborhood and then tumbled back into my great Aunt and Uncle's house and ate as much candy as we could before we got caught." —Sarah Balch, InStyle.com Associate Photo Editor "The pretty pink princess look was my go-to aesthetic as a child—perhaps it's because I always dominated the Pretty Pretty Princess board game and was obsessed with Glinda the Good Witch. Clearly, I had the diva attitude to match. Here I am circa '92, complete with a light-up wand and tiara, ready to load up on candy from the neighbors." —Marianne Mychaskiw, InStyle.com Assistant Beauty Editor Read on »
