Excerpts:
InStyle Throws It Back #tbt-Style with '90s Punk Band, New Found Glory It was "All Downhill From Here." By that I mean, my inner middle school self started to freak out. I got the chance to meet the band backstage at their sold-out show in Times Square's Playstation Theater. Not only is NFG headlining the tour with long-time buds Yellowcard (talk about the ultimate #TBT), it was also the first time most fans got to hear them live as a four-piece. Going without a second guitar actually brought the guys back to the roots of punk rock. Instead of relying on instrumentation like most modern bands, "the challenge was to cut more out and to have no other layers." "I'd like to think it's pretty raw, we just use distortion and plug right in," lead guitarist Chad Gilbert pointed out. From massive mosh pits, crowd surfing, and a hype OG set list NFG kept it real with the crowd. "The same youthfulness from our first record came back," said Gilbert. It really is as if the band never changed — even I felt thirteen again!
