(Gingham, one of spring's hottest trends, has gone from ruling the runways to dominating the InStyle headquarters. No prior planning here–three staffers have taken a liking to the print, and they each gave the gridlike pattern their personal flair.

Eco-friendly doesn't necessarily mean ugly. And since our whole office is gung-ho on giving back sartorially, I decided to get in the spirit this year and attempt to look good while doing some good, too. These Woodzee shades are made of all natural walnut wood and, with each purchase, a tree is planted in your honor. Svilu is a brand I've been obsessed with since we featured them last Earth Day, and this dress is made using environmentally sensitive practices that conserve water and electricity. Plus, it has a very forgiving A-line shape AND pockets (!). The material was a little fancy for the office so I decided to team it with sneakers, and this pair by The People's Movement is made with organic cotton canvas (a biodegradable material) and its outsole is a recyclable synthetic rubber. For a little bling, I threw on this gold-plated brass necklace by A Peace Treaty, which is handmade by artisans in India and supports local communities—but you'd never know just by looking at it.

What We Wore (Coachella Edition): Laura Simola

This was my 2nd year at Coachella, so I went in knowing what to expect. While packing I kept a few important things in mind:

  1. Comfortable shoes: Festivals demand you to be on your feet for most of the day. Therefore, packing stylish but comfortable shoes is essential. I went for basic lace-ups and chelsea booties to keep my feet covered and comfy during the chaos.
  2. Light clothing: Tank tops and flowy shorts were my go-to. Since I got to the festival later in the day on Friday, I decided to wear wide-leg linen pants–comfortable, lightweight and perfect for blocking the chill at night.
  3. Sunglasses: A must-have to keep the sun out of your eyes (I brought a different pair for each day)
  4. Lightweight but fun makeup: A tinted moisturizer with SPF, a cream blush, and multipurpose luminizer (that you can put on eyes, cheeks, lips–anywhere for some shimmer!) are easy to rub in and blend. You want to avoid heavy makeup that will melt in the hot, desert sun. Extra points if your brands have SPF!
  5. Festive accessories: Add a finishing touch with a braid (I easily pinned a few in the front), nail art (I took the flash tat route and applied them on my nails), or a flower crown (instead of the usual florals, I went for a more modern look with a mix of leaves, berries, and other woodsy elements).

Editor-Tested: Mustang GT

Ever since the 2015 convertible Mustang GT was dropped off in front of my house last Friday, everyone I run into asks me the same question, "How was the Mustang?" So let me tell you…it was awesome!

Being an entertainment editor in Los Angeles means driving around a lot. So when I was given the opportunity to experience driving the new GT while bouncing around town for my job, I took full advantage. I took the bright orange Mustang to screenings, restaurants, the beach, the MTV Movie Awards and even found a little time to take the top down and hit the open road with my best friend (pictured, top). Come Monday morning, it was not easy to give the car back. I actually miss it!
