TGIF Means Oversized Button Down Shirts

Two InStyle.com editors had the same idea in mind this morning when they got dressed for the office. Equal parts casual and chic, their oversized blue button downs were made for Friday wear.

An Eye for Fashion-Forward EyewearInStyle.com Fashion News...

An Eye for Fashion-Forward Eyewear

InStyle.com Fashion News Assistant Jonathan Borge recently arrived at work wearing brand new aviator-style eyeglasses—and we couldn't help but take notice. When it comes to fashionable eyewear, this delicate, simple silhouette quickly became one of the season's chicest, '70s-inspired trends.

"I've become obsessed with all things '70s thanks to Tom Ford's Spring 2016 music video with Lady Gaga, so when I spotted these at Warby Parker, I knew they had to be mine. The frames are affordable and, if you look closely, they're actually navy, not black. Plus, I saw Kendall Jenner (and other members of the #girlsquad) wearing rounded glasses, so I bought rounded sunglasses." —Jonathan Borge, InStyle.com Fashion News Assistant

What I'm Reading: InStyle Staffers on the Books You Should Read...

What I'm Reading: InStyle Staffers on the Books You Should Read Right Now

1) A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again: Essays and Arguments
By David Foster Wallace

"I recently saw The End of the Tour, the movie based on a five-day-long interview between Rolling Stone reporter and burgeoning novelist David Lipsky and David Foster Wallace, and immediately felt propelled to read more of the late writer's work, so I'm starting off slow with A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again. Then maybe I'll finally muster up the courage to attempt Infinite Jest."—Claire Stern, Assistant Editor

2) Sounds Like Me: My Life (So Far) in Song
By Sara Bareilles

"Sara Bareilles is one of my favorite musical artists and I've listened to her songs for years. When I learned of her autobiographical book, Sounds Like Me, I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy. With each chapter, Bareilles tells the inside story behind some of her most popular songs. She's a refreshingly honest storyteller and I promise you'll laugh out loud—and probably cry, too." —Anna Hecht, Editorial Assistant

3) The Nightingale
By Kristin Hannah

"I recently finished Kristin Hannah's The Nightingale, and it's so good chances are you'll see me reading it again. Set in France during World War two, it follows two sisters and the difficulties they face when the Nazis invade. While they follow two vastly different pasts—one must host a German soldier in her family's home and the other one joins the French resistance—their intertwined story shows the horrors of the war in a very different light. There's a reason it's been on The New York Times's bestseller list for almost a year." —Jennifer Davis, Associate Editor

Over-the-knee boots, one of the season's trendiest styles, has officially taken over inside InStyle headquarters. No prior planning here–three staffers have taken a liking to the style, and they each gave the thigh-high footwear their own personal flair. Whether paired with leather, denim, or tights, over-the-knee boots are sleek, sexy, and stylish all in one.

What I wore to the Golden Globes: How four fashionable InStyle...

What I wore to the Golden Globes: How four fashionable InStyle editors chose their looks for one of Hollywood's most glamorous occasions

1. "I'm really petite, so it's sometimes difficult for me to find dresses that fit right. When I found this Monique Lhuillier design at Neiman Marcus, I knew it was perfect. The beading on the side had just enough pizzazz for a party night like the Globes, and I loved the fire-red color. It reminded me of the gown that Eva Longoria wore to the Globes in 2009. And, when I ran into her at our party, I told her, and she was flattered. Overall, I've never felt more confident in a dress on a red carpet. And to top it all off, it was on sale!" —Sharon Clott-Kanter, Features Editor

2. "I loved how the sequin detail around the shoulders makes this classic Nicole Miller gown pop, so I wore my hair up to show off the sparkle. Bonus: the lightweight material was super comfy, which is crucial for a long, action-packed day and night!" —Christina Shanahan, Senior Editor

3. "I love this Balenciaga dress because it has a timeless quality to it and the added bonus is it's totally secure and comfortable. I don't have to fuss with it at all throughout the evening." —Rina Stone, Creative Director

4. "I brought two dresses with me to the Golden Globes: this long black gown from La Petite Robe Di Chiara Boni (pictured above) and another skintight bandage dress from Herve Leger in navy. Ultimately, I chose this dress because it was much more comfortable and flattering on my pear shaped figure and I could zip it up myself!

I paired the Chiara gown with a gold mesh clutch from Edie Parker which was roomy enough to hold my lip gloss, blush and shadow palette, charge and two cellphones (I have an iPhone 6 with a Lumee cover that provides great built-in lighting for selfies, and an LG with a 16 megapixel camera for landscape/environmental shots).

Vanity Projects (in NYC) did my nails (pictured below), which were an off white gel with a subtle gold line in a different place on each nail." —Amy Synnott, Executive Editor
